Orbit 8D Audio

Privacy Policy

Overview

Orbit 8D Audio (“the Extension”) is a Chrome / Chromium browser extension that applies immersive 8D spatial audio and an optional volume boost to media playing in the user’s browser tab. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and how that data is used.

1. Data we handle

  • Extension settings stored locally in chrome.storage.session (for example: concert mode on/off, orbit speed, spatial position, venue, and volume boost), keyed by tab ID.
  • Current tab URL and title, used only to choose the correct audio pipeline, show the active tab in the popup, and restore settings after navigation.
  • Website audio/video and related media metadata (such as track artwork) accessed on the page solely to process sound for the Extension’s features and to display artwork in the popup.

2. How we use data

Data is used only to provide the Extension’s single purpose: local 8D audio processing and volume boost for the current tab. Settings are kept for the life of the tab and removed when the tab closes.

Audio streams are processed in memory on the device. They are not recorded, saved for later playback, or uploaded.

3. Storage and transmission

All processing happens on the user’s device. We do not operate backend servers that receive Extension data. We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use data for advertising, analytics, creditworthiness, or lending.

4. Permissions

The Extension requests storage, tabs, scripting, tabCapture, offscreen, and host access so it can run on pages with media, capture tab audio when page-level access is blocked, and process audio locally.
